Starting October 2 at 10:15AM we will begin our winter rentals at Mary Hall (Selkirk College - 10th Street Campus). Play is for 1.5 hours and all five courts will be in use. Normal rental days will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:15 to 11.45PM, and Sundays from 12:15 to 1:45PM. Unless we notify you, assume that those are rental days throughout the winter, probably until the end of May. For non-rental days, use this link to sign up to play at Mary Hall. There is a maximum number of ten allowed in the gym at any one time on non-rental days. If too many people want to play, we may have to set up a second sign-up time during Mary Hall’s multi-use periods.
Nelson Pickleball Club Membership fees will be $25 for the year - this includes a $5 payment for membership in Pickleball Canada (PCO), and a $2.50 membership fee for Pickleball BC (PBBC). The club is absorbing the extra $2.50. By joining PCO, we receive insurance coverage for all paid-up members while playing pickleball. See the links on this page for all FAQ.
Rental fees will remain at $4 for members and $5 for non-members, or $40 for the month ($50 non-members). Fees for non-rental days at Mary Hall are set by Selkirk College.
These Nelson Pickleball Club membership and rental fees have nothing to do with the new courts at LVR. Those are separate costs that are paid to the Nelson Tennis Club, as described in the email you would have received last week regarding the opening of the new courts. We will be collecting $5.00 from anyone who plays at LVR and forwarding this money to the Tennis Club, unless you have paid a $25 Tennis Club membership deposit, or the total $75 for 2019 Tennis Club Membership dues. Pickleball Committee members will be updated with a list of members so as to know who to collect from.
As announced at the LVR Courts' opening, the Nelson Pickleball Club is donating $250 to the Nelson Tennis Club as a thank-you for the amazing amount of work that has been done to get the courts finished.
While it is still warm enough we are using the outside courts whenever possible. LVR uses the courts Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings for school training activities, but we are free to use them at any other time. If it’s sunny and warm enough on Monday, Wednesday or Friday mornings, assume we will be playing at Lakeside courts at 10:15.
